Looking for a summer camp that combines fun with actual skills? The Give It a Tri Youth Camp is a fun, supportive introduction to triathlon for kids ages 8-12. No prior triathlon experience requiredβthis camp welcomes athletes of all ability levels.
Led by Camp Director Coach Kat Uchman (USA Triathlon Certified, Olympic Cycling Coach, and former D1 Swimmer), kids learn the fundamentals of swimming, biking, and running in a safe, encouraging environment. The week wraps up with a Mock Triathlon on Thursday where families are invited to come cheer!
What kids learn: - Swimming fundamentals (must be able to swim 50 meters unassisted to enroll) - Biking skills and bike safety on low-traffic streets - Running basics and endurance - How to transition between all three disciplines
Pro tip: Even if your child doesn't think of themselves as a "triple threat," this is a great confidence-builder. The small group coaching means Coach Kat really sees each kid and meets them where they are.
Cost: $100 includes a camp keepsake.
When: June 15-18, 2026 (Monday-Thursday), 9:00 AM β Noon (Thu starts at 10:30 AM for the mock triathlon). Rain date: June 19.
Where: John Sevier Pool/Park area. Drop-off and pick-up at the John Sevier pavilion.
What to bring: Swimsuit, goggles, towel, sunscreen, athletic wear for running/biking, tennis shoes, bike and helmet, water bottle, and 2-3 small snacks.
Bottom line: This is one of those camps where your kid comes home feeling like they actually accomplished something real. And let's be honestβanytime I can get them out of the house before noon, I'm winning the summer game.
