Songs by the Brook in Alcoa: The Final Free Thursday Night Concert of the Season Is September 10
The free Songs by the Brook concert series at Alcoa's Springbrook Park wraps up for the year this Thursday, September 10, with one final night of Americana, folk, and blues from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. It's completely free, and it's one of the easiest outdoor evenings to do with kids in the whole county.
If you haven't been yet, the setup is hard to beat. The stage sits in Springbrook Park at 1537 Dalton Street, and the park already has a playground and walking trails, so kids can burn off energy before the music starts. Food vendors set up on site, so you don't have to pack a full dinner. We usually grab a spot on the grass, let the kids run around, then settle in as the sun goes down.
The series runs a few Thursday nights in late summer, and this is the last one on the 2026 calendar, 6:00-9:00 PM. If the weather turns, they move the concert inside to the Springbrook Recreation Center, right there in the park, so rain doesn't necessarily cancel the night.
A few practical notes for parents: - Bring a blanket or low chairs; there's no assigned seating. - Food is available from on-site vendors if you'd rather not pack anything. - Parking is at the park lot on Dalton Street. Arrive a little early on nice evenings. - Age-wise this is a relaxed lawn crowd, not a loud festival. It works for toddlers up through older kids.
